Who is a candidate for the procedure?

Ideal candidates for SculpSure™ should be within 10-15 pounds of their ideal weight and should be otherwise healthy. The best candidates have pockets of diet- and exercise-resistant fat that they want to remove. If your goal is to lose a great deal of weight, SculpSure may not be an option for you. SculpSure should be thought of as a body shaping and contouring procedure. It is not intended for patients who are significantly overweight. SculpSure™ treatments work best when combined with a healthy diet and a good exercise program.

 

How many treatments will I need?
Dr. Sexton and staff will work with each patient to determine the best treatment plan in order to achieve the desired results. It is recommended to wait 6-8 weeks in between treatments. Many patients will see sufficient improvement in one SculpSure™ treatment. Some patients will require a second treatment to remove additional fat.

What should I expect during treatment?
Most patients feel a tingling heat sensation intermittently throughout the treatment which is generally well-tolerated. The SculpSure device is a laser. The laser is applied to the skin for approximately 25 minutes. During this time, the laser heats the underlying fat and initiates a process that leads to the loss of fat cells. Results become visible over the following months.

 

When will I see results?
Most patients notice results within 6 – 8 weeks. SculpSure treatments result in a noticeable fat reduction in the treated areas. You should be able to see the reduction in fat with your own eyes. Studies show that the treatment can remove up to 20-25% of the fat in the treated areas. For many patients, that is enough fat reduction. Some patients will wish to undergo a second procedure to remove additional fat.

How long do results last?
Treated fat cells are permanently destroyed during the treatment and will not regenerate. It is important to maintain a healthy diet and exercise regimen to ensure long lasting results.

 

How long before I can resume normal activities?
There is no downtime with SculpSure, so you can have the treatment during your lunch hour and return to work immediately.
